A cold climate limits the types of shoes you can wear, cause let's be honest, no one is showing off their shoe game in the winter. But, with spring arriving and summer on the way, we can start the season with our best foot (or shoe) forward.
Based on the trends of the season and our personal preferences, these are the shoes you should have in your closet this year!
Square Toe Ankle Booties
Ankle booties are the perfect transition shoe for the spring season. On chillier days, throw them on with any outfit and, you will elevate your look instantly. For Spring, consider investing in a transitional coloured boot, similar to these from Steve Madden.
Leather Loafers
Now that our ankles are exposed again, the leather loafer is the ideal shoe to take on warmer days, with options ranging from the chunky lug sole to the traditional office-wear slip-on. The leather loafer is having a moment in style history but have loafers ever really gone out of style? We don't think so.
Air Jordan 1s
The Jordan 1s are the shoe every sneaker-head has in their closet. However, this cult secret is making its way to street fashion with everyone and their mom wearing them. These Jordans are the perfect start to your sneaker collection (or the perfect way to make people think you have a sneaker collection).
New Balance 550s
The latest IT sneaker in fashion. This retro 80s basketball shoe is making its reappearance in 2022. If you’re a sneaker head (or not), you’ll want to add these to your collection ASAP. Although, good luck getting your hands on a pair of these.
Geometric Heels
It’s out with the old and in with the new! Time to trade in your classic stilettos for a funky geometric-shaped heel. Spring/summer fashion is all about being bold with funky shapes and colours — and we’re so here for it!
Clogs
While the Birkenstock Boston Clogs have taken over fall fashion, spring 2022 is all about opulence. Think less house slipper and more mule-style shoe. The perfect way to elevate a classic mule or heeled scandal. But if the Boston Clogs are more your style, there's something for everyone!
