Spotted: New York Fashion Week’s Hottest Trends

In this blog post, Olivia + Laura analyze the hottest trends currently spotted at NYFW 2024.

Welcome to the biggest week of the year in fashion, New York Fashion Week. Where the city streets transform into runways and every corner exudes an air of haute couture.

This season seems to be all about embracing essence of daring and distinct aesthetics. From the resurgence of the mob wife aesthetic to the flirty allure of coquette bows, designers are weaving narratives of style that transcend the conventional boundaries of fashion.

The Fall 2024 shows are showcasing emerging trends, hinting at how fashion might evolve in the months ahead. While still uncertain if these trends will stick, one thing's for sure that each aren offers a unique opportunity to express yourself boldly and fearlessly through the art of fashion.

Mob Wife Aesthetic

The mob wife aesthetic emerges as a dominant force, channeling the unapologetic glamour and opulence of 1950s matriarchs. Think figure-hugging silhouettes, sumptuous fur coats, and statement accessories that exude an aura of power and prestige.

Coquette

The popular coquette TikTok trend has made its way into NYFW. Bows take centre stage, adorning everything from dresses to hair accessories with a feminine charm that takes us back to the romantic renaissance era. Whether delicately tied at the neckline or cascading down the back of a gown, these feminine embellishments add a touch of youthful exuberance to the runway.

Reputation Era

We're channeling our inner Taylor Swift with this trend and we're entering our reputation era. Drawing inspiration from the mystique of nighttime escapades and clandestine rendezvous, these sleek and sophisticated looks exude an air of intrigue and sophistication. While it may not seem like much of a trend, the allure of monochrome fashion is what has us hooked.

Leopard Print

Making its triumphant return to the forefront of fashion, there's the bold and fierce leopard print trend. Evoking a sense of untamed glamour and unrestrained confidence, this timeless trend adds a touch of exoticism to the runway.

While these trends are currently just fads at the moment, it is always interesting to see what designers are predicting for upcoming fashion trends. Although, I do believe most of these will stick around.

Happy NYFW!

Xoxo,
