If you follow us individually or on our blog Instagram page (@oliviaandlaurablog), you will know that we picked up tennis as our summer hobby. Not only is it a great workout, but the fits are incredible, so it really was the sport for us. With that said, we could not show up to the court dressed like amateurs. So, here are the outfits you'll need to look like the next Serena Williams (skills not included).
Tennis Skirts
There's no better outfit for tennis than a tennis skirt-- it's literally in the name. These pleated skirts have made their way into street style and are a versatile item to add to your wardrobe. A little piece of advice though, opt for a skort version or add a pair of shorts underneath for comfort.
Shorts
This might seem obvious but, shorts are the perfect item of clothing to wear on the court. They allow for comfort as you hit the ball and are found at every sporting and non-sporting store. We especially love the sweatshorts as they are trending this summer.
Polo Shirts
I don't know why polos are not in style anymore but, we (and tennis)are bringing them back! Tennis is an elegant sport, and a polo shirt really fits the vibe. Check out this cropped one from Zara! It is inexpensive and comes in multiple colours.
Tennis Shoes
If it's in the name, then it must be made for the sport! Tennis shoes have been revived from the dead and, all the dads who wore them in the early 2000s are screaming I told you so. Not only are they comfortable but they also look great with a tennis fit.
Sport Bras
If you play a sport, you know that it gets HOT as you move around. So what better way to keep cool than a supportive sports bra. Get inspo from the girls below and strike a pose or score a point in your sporty attire.
Matching Sets
You can never go wrong with a matching set, they are the most efficient look there is. Match on the court and off the court for a chic sporty look. Take it a step further and match with your besties — just don't forget to capture it for the gram!
Tennis Accessories
A tennis outfit would not be complete without these accessories. A hat is a must for tennis, especially if you're playing in the sun. Style your look with a cap or bucket hat for the ultimate sporty chic. Ankle socks just really make your look that much cuter, don't you think? A tote bag is an essential accessory for carrying all of your tennis gear.
