End of February Favourites

In this blog post, Olivia + Laura share their end-of-February favourites that they have been using and abusing this month.

Monthly favourites are some of the most fun articles to write because we get to share with you the things we have loved this month! As you will see in this article, these favourites include fashion, skincare or random others we could not live without.

OLIVIA'S FAVES

The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane

I know that I am young but, it is never too early to start using retinol. Retinol is effective with fine lines and wrinkles but, it can help with skin firmness and uneven texture. However, it can be an irritant for the skin the first time you use it. Luckily, I haven't had any issues. I think that is because of the lower percentage of retinol in the product. Overall, I have been using the product for over a month and am seeing results. I have to admit my skin looks firmer and, I am experiencing less redness. Also, this The Ordinary serum sells for only 5.80$ at Sephora. At that price, it is definitely worth trying out.

Aritzia POLAR 1/2 Zip Sweater

I will start this off by saying that I live in this fleece half-zip. I'm not even joking! This sweatshirt has made an appearance in soo many zoom classes because it is so cozy and warm. It is the perfect shirt to chill in and gives off an apres-ski vibe. Also, this sweatshirt resembles a hug from the cuddliest teddy bear. If that doesn't convince you to buy it, then I don't know what will!

I own the forest green, which Artizia has unfortunately sold out. Nevertheless, the black, beige and brown are available in stock and on sale right now!

Rolled Oats

This has to be the most random February favourite but rolled oats have marked this month for me. For as long as I can remember, I have hated the consistency of oatmeal. Then, one day I made overnight oats, and I fell in love with them. Rolled oats are so versatile. They are used to make muffins, bars, overnight oats and baked oats-- all of which I have been making a lot of. Also, you can blend them up and make oat flour, a healthier alternative to regular white flour.

Have I convinced you that rolled oats are the best thing since sliced bread? Don't take my word for it, take TikTok's as #bakedoats has been trending for days now. Look's like oats are everyone's February fave.

TikTok Banana Oat Bars

This recipe is from @melissadesm on Tiktok and satisfies your sweet tooth.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Overnight Oats

If you don't like any of the ingredients in this recipe you can totally substitute with other ingredient. You can switch honey for maple syrup, cocoa for chocolate protein powder or peanut butter for almond butter. No matter the swap, it will always taste amazing.

To-Do List Planner

I am extremely picky with planners and I have finally found one that I absolutely love. If you’re like me and can’t commit to a planner, buy yourself an undated one! It gives you the freedom to use it whenever you need instead of worrying about wasting pages. You can freely start and stop whenever you want, which is the best part!

This planner is an undated to-do list tear-away notepad. It allows you to plan out your day by the hour and even has space for you to write out your tasks for the day. The layout of the planner is a dream. I am constantly making lists to stay on track and this planner combines that with your daily plan. I cannot recommend this enough! Bliss Collections on Amazon has a ton of other layouts and templates for undated planners, so find one that you think you will enjoy the most!

Laneige Sleep Mask

Winter is definitely my least favourite season of all. My skin is always dry and peeling in the winter months. Truly sucks. However, this Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is a game changer! It is an overnight mask meaning you apply it before bed and rinse it off in the morning. My skin feels so hydrated and refreshed when I wake up the next morning!

Aerie Offline 7/8 Leggings

They always say putting on a cute workout outfit motivates you to workout out. These Aerie Offline Real Me leggings do just that for me. These are said to be a budget-friendly dupe for Lululemon Align leggings. They come at a fraction of the cost and feel just as soft. The Aerie leggings come in a large variety of colours as well as so many different sizes and lengths! Finding leggings (or any pants in general) that are the perfect length is always a struggle for me. However, these leggings hit right at the ankle, no folding necessary! For reference, I am 5’0 and ordered size small short. I will definitely be ordering more pairs of these!

O+L Tip: Never pay full price at Aerie! There is always a sale going on so keep an eye out for them!
